Coloma Ness lives in Coloma, California along the banks of the South Fork of the American River. She can change the pigment of her skin to any color or pattern. Despite being approximately ten feet long Ness can vanish as quick as you can blink your eyes.

Brian Mick Hopper was the first person to report a sighting of Coloma Ness. He was quick enough to snap a photo of Nessie which was later reproduced in the Mountain Democrat along with a report of the sighting. Brian has several theories regarding Coloma Ness. The Democrat quotes Brian as speculating that something in the water of the South Fork is spurring unnatural growth. He has also supposed that Nessie is a distant cousin of the pleisiosaurus. Brian has set up a lab along the South Fork of the American to study Ness.
