EL DORADO RANCH HIKE-EXPLORE THE HISTORY AND PLANTS AT EL DORADO RANCH
This event was moved from March 4th due to rain.
The tour and short walks will be led by Dee Owens, local historian, and Annie Walker, botanist. Walking any distance will be optional as most sites are accessible by vehicle. High-clearance vehicles are necessary. We will drive to Fanny Creek, an area of early Gold Rush activity and mercury mine as well as the scant remains of Cinnabar City, a small town during the 1870s. We will also visit the site of "Milk House Ranch", an early ranch in the area. We will end the day at the Miller Ranch, an example of later 19th Century Angora goat and cattle ranching. Responsible children 12+ welcome. Meeting location El Dorado area. Steady rain cancels. Suggested Donation: $10/members, $15/non-members. A detailed email will be sent once you register online. FULL
