Discover Wakamatsu's oak woodlands, ponds and gardens in spring time! On your own or with a guide, this is a special time of year to experience nature on the farm. Please note that guided events have limited capacity and require pre-registration.

10:15 am    Oak Woodlands Nature Walk    1.5 hrs

Discover the richness of the oak woodlands and the cooperative community of plants, animals, lichens, and fungi that live within them. This guided walk will be led by naturalist Kate Marianchild, author of the widely popular book Secrets of the Oak Woodlands. Space is limited. Please register. [$20/pp, max group size: 20]

12:00 pm    Native Garden Tour    30 mins 
Join Master Gardener Deborah Nicolls for a stroll through the native garden. Learn how to select the right plant for the right place and create your very own backyard nature preserve. Space is limited. Please register. [max group size: 15]

12:45 pm    Planting Trees for Wildlife    1 hr

Plant native willows along the edge of the big pond to create a shady oasis where insects, fish, and birds will thrive, with Wildlife Conservation Board scientist, Aaron N.K. Haiman. Does your student need service hours for school? This project could satisfy that requirement! Kids age 12 and up are welcome to participate if accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. 10 am - 2 pm Explore Wakamatsu Farm on Your Own

Walk the grounds at your leisure and explore the historic Graner House, Okei-san’s 1871 Gravesite, or the Native Garden. Stop by the farm stand and fill your reusable bag with fresh veggies grown by Fog Dog Farm. Enjoy the spring wildflowers with a walk through the oak woodlands.
