ALPINE HIKE: CARSON PASS TO LAKE WINNEMUCCA AND BEYOND!

The hike from Carson Pass to Lake Winnemucca offers beautiful views of Round Top Mountain, the Elephants Back, the Sisters, and multiple lakes. We will begin at Carson Pass Ranger Station and hike south along the PCT to Frog Lake for an overview of Hope Valley, then hike southwest to Winnemuca Lake under the shadow of Round Top.  This hike is about 2 miles in length, one way, with an elevation gain of about 600 feet.  For those who opt to continue, we'll hike up to Round Top Lake which offers more alpine views. We'll return along the same path, picking up anyone who has chosen to stay at Winnemucca Lake. 12-year-olds+ welcome. Meeting location Placerville area. FREE.
